APPLICATION FOR GOAL’S 2024 ONLINE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMMES

Dear Prospective GOAL Scholar:

Welcome to the Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL) 2024 application portal for pre-university foundation, vocational, undergraduate and graduate programmes. 

Between 2021 and 2023, the Ministries of Public Service and Education demonstrated their commitment to education by awarding over 21,000 scholarships from the ten (10) administrative regions. 

As we look ahead to our 2024 programmes, we are proud to announce that GOAL has partnered with Five (5) new institutions. These institutions are Staffordshire University, United Kingdom ; International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC), United Kingdom; Amity University, Dubai; University of the Caribbean (UNICARIBE), Dominican Republic; UN University for Peace, Costa Rica and Robert Gordon University, Scotland . 

Please note that GOAL reserves the right to award scholarships based on the following criteria:

1. One of the options selected on the Application Form

2. A programme that matches your qualifications

3. If the required number of eligible applicants does not meet the minimum enrollment of the University 

 THE APPLICATION PROCESS

To make the application process smoother, you are encouraged to create a Gmail account, for example, (firstname_lastname@gmail.com) and check it regularly for updates. 

Here are five (5) steps to follow when applying for a GOAL programme: 

STEP 1: ASSESS YOUR ELIGIBILITY  

  1. Review the eligibility criteria from our website (Goal.edu.gy) when selecting a programme that matches your interests and qualifications. This is important as your qualifications must align with your interests and vice versa.

STEP 2: GATHER AND SCAN THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Have the following documents ready to upload to the application portal. These include:

  1. A passport-sized photograph (pdf/jpeg format)

  2. Bio-page of your National Passport or National ID Card (pdf/jpeg format)

  3. Up to date/current Curriculum Vitae with details of current and previous professional experience AND contact details of two referees (pdf format)

  4. Job Letter (if currently employed) 

  5. Copies of your academic certificates and transcripts (pdf format)

STEP 3: HOW TO APPLY ONLINE 

  1. Visit GOAL's website: www.goal.edu.gy, click the REGISTER button and follow the instructions to create an account.

  2. Upon successfully creating the account, the applicant should click the APPLY NOW button to complete the application form and upload the required documents. 

  3. Ensure the mandatory sections, which are asterisked (*) on the Form, are filled out before proceeding to the next stage.   

  4. Once you have completed each section, click the COMPLETE button.

  5. In the Declaration Section, click the box confirming the information submitted is true and correct.    

STEP 4: UPLOAD DOCUMENTS 

  1. Upload the scanned documents listed in Step 2 to the Online Application Portal. 

STEP 5: COMPLETE THE APPLICATION AND SUBMISSION

  1. After uploading all the documents, review the information filled out for accuracy.

  2. Once you are satisfied, click the SUBMIT button.

  3. You will then receive an email acknowledging the successful submission of your application.
